Below you will find a brief description of these programs.
Summer Internship
This program operates during colleges' summer break and is usually full-time (40 hours per week) for 9-12 weeks. Typically, this comprehensive program's objectives are to provide an overview of Avnet's business, rotations through various positions within the company, and project work related to current business objectives. This program typically involves interns from various schools and involves the participation of several Avnet business groups. See the link on the webpage SUMMER INTERNSHIPS.
Project-based Internships
This type of intern is assigned a specific project or task in a particular department. The intern focuses on a specific issue or assignment that can be resolved or completed within a predetermined timeframe (usually less than 90 days). This can be a full time or part time position, and can take place during the summer or throughout a school semester.
Co-op Internship
A co-op is structured so that a student alternates between full time work and full time school. In this situation, an intern would either work on a project or perform a specific job, full-time (40-hours per week) for one semester. Please note that this event requires a student to get permission from the college in order to maintain their student status while working full time at Avnet.
Part-time Work
This program is designed to assign a student a specific job for a predetermined amount of time (usually more than 90 days). Although the intern may be involved in project work, the primary responsibility is to be trained on and perform the specific functions of an identifiable job. This is usually a part time position (20 hours per week) while a student is attending classes. It is typically offered for a minimum of two school semesters and a maximum of four school semesters (1-2 years).
When these opportunities become available, Avnet will post them on our recruiting website and will advertise them at our partner schools.
