PHOENIX -- The Avnet Electronics Marketing, Americas business region of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT) today announced the appointment of Steve Boysen as senior vice president, director of interconnect, passive and electromechanical (IP&E) strategic sales.

Most recently serving as vice president of supply chain services in the Americas for Avnet Electronics Marketing, Boysen brings over 26 years of industry experience to the position; he joined the Avnet team in 2001 as a result of the Kent acquisition. In this new role, Boysen will be responsible for leading IP&E sales efforts for the Americas region, and will report to Chuck Delph, senior vice president of sales, Avnet Electronics Marketing, Americas.
"This appointment further supports Avnet's strategic focus on growing IP&E sales in the Americas. We see IP&E as a true performance-enhancing technology. With Steve in this role, our customers in the Americas now have an advocate and expert working on their behalf in this critical area," said Delph. Boysen holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University with a focus on business and supply chain management.
