Avnet Honored by Readers from Leading Canadian IT News Organization for Helping Solution Providers Deliver Business Value to Their Customers
MISSISSAUGA, Ontario -- Avnet Technology Solutions, the solutions distribution leader and operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), announced today that it has won a BusinessPeople's Choice Award from the Canadian IT news network IT in Canada. Avnet received the award in the IT Solution Provider Ecosystem Member category, which recognizes members of the channel that help solution providers deliver business value to their end-user customers. Companies were selected for these awards based on survey responses of more than 2,200 Canadian IT managers across a wide range of companies and industries.

The awards were launched this year by IT in Canada, and the winners were recognized at an industry event hosted by CRN Canada Magazine, part of the IT in Canada network. The concept behind the BusinessPeople's Choice IT Solution Providers awards was developed by Michael O'Neil, CEO of the IT in Canada research arm, IT Market Dynamics.
"Despite the fact we asked about resellers, we received so many votes for different kinds of firms, including distributors, that we created a new category, 'Ecosystem Member.' This category is for companies, like Avnet, that are recognized by their customers as contributing to the ability of Canadian IT end users to derive business advantage from IT investments," explained O'Neil.
