Premier Technology Channel Conference for Sun Partners to Be Held August 16-18, 2009, in Denver; Virtual Trade Show Starts August 17 and Continues for Six Months
TEMPE, Ariz. -- Avnet Technology Solutions, a solutions distribution leader and an operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), will host approximately 400 technology channel industry leaders at its annual conference for Americas-based Sun Microsystems partners, Avnet Compass '09. The event, to be held August 16-18, 2009, in Denver, Colo., will provide attendees with a variety of educational sessions, ranging from building a solutions practice to maximizing data center efficiencies. In addition, the event will feature the first Avnet Sun Solutions group virtual trade show - Avnet Compass: Virtual North. The virtual trade show will create a highly dynamic, interactive forum that expands event access to the employees of the Avnet Sun Solutions group partners who attend the event in person.

Avnet Compass '09 will provide direction to attendees through a combination of:

Avnet Compass: Virtual North will provide online access to event keynotes, social networking, live chats and the Virtual North Exhibit Hall, which will feature Avnet's supplier partners, such as Sun, Hitachi Data Systems and Symantec. This virtual trade show begins August 17 and will be live for an additional six months to provide both attendees and their employees that are unable to attend the event in person with ongoing access to event content.
