Tempe, Ariz. -- Today, Avnet Technology Solutions, Americas announced it has won the Partner of the Year Award for Operational Excellence at the 2006 Microsoft Partner Program Awards. The company was chosen out of the United States field of top Microsoft Partners for delivering market-leading customer solutions built on Microsoft technology. The awards were distributed at a ceremony in San Diego, Calif., at Microsoft’s Channel Partner Summit.

Winners were chosen from a pool of more than 38 entrants in the US. Avnet was recognized for superior operational excellence, meeting or exceeding specific requirements for the number of valid agreements in a variety of categories, as well as the number of on-time and valid order submissions. By meeting these operational criteria, these winners have illustrated their commitment to providing value and customer satisfaction.

The Microsoft Partner Program Awards recognize Microsoft Partners that have developed and delivered exceptional Microsoft-based solutions over the past year. Multiple awards are distributed in four categories: Partner of the Year for Technology Innovation, Partner of the Year for Sales and Marketing, the Specialization Excellence Awards and the Microsoft Initiative Awards.
