PHOENIX -- Avnet Electronics Marketing, the largest operating group of Phoenix-based Avnet Inc. (NYSE: AVT), announces its Avnet IP&E division has earned Murata Electronics' distribution award for outstanding sales growth. Hiroshi Jozuka, president of Murata Electronics,
North America, presented the award to Avnet IP&E in Japan.
"In 2003, Avnet did an outstanding job of selling Murata's full product line," said Canda Carr, Murata's director of sales for North America. "Avnet IP&E increased its sales of Murata products by 26percent, against an overall distribution channel growth of 2 percent in 2003.
